purpose

At present this blog is a companion and spur to my reading program.  I have a disciplined reading program, or more correctly,  I want to set and maintain the habit of reading difficult things, sprinkled with reading for pleasure.  Writing about my reading will help keep me on track.

I’ve spent the last ten years in the trenches of political warfare, and am finally thankfully losing acute interest. The rest of the world is coming back into focus, but I note that almost everything is political now. You can’t read a book or watch tv without being subjected to a lecture, which is a huge bore.  The culture is diminished by that.  At least mine is. So this is my highway the hell out of ideology, or at least I hope it will be so.
